Mystery Solved at Abandoned Gatlinburg 'Fun Mountain' Theme Park
After receiving a lot of emails and comments about my latest video Tennessee Mountain View, it came as a nice surprise when I received a message from someone letting me know that he made it to the top of the mountain. If you didn't see the short film, it's all about my exploration of abandoned property in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, including an old chairlift that's been left to rot on the land. I attempted to climb to the peak of the mountain, but wasn't able to make it all the way up. I visited last May on a fairly hot day with thick brush growing all over the mountain.
Micheal Stephenson made it to the top before this year's plants and leaves started growing. In his photos below, you'll see abandoned carnival train tracks and the other end of the chairlift. I expected to see the other end of the lift, but the tracks to a kid's train ride was a nice surprise.
